Reporting live from India

Earlier played soccer with the CCHS gang at The Cage near stadium, damn shiok and extremely tiring. Cos there's no out, so the game goes on.

$90 for 1h
$135 for 2hs

Then went back home and back stuffs before heading to airport.

1700++

Met my SG partner Allan for the New Delhi trip. Checked in and walked around before boarding the plane

From my observation, the plane had 2 types of passengers.

1) Locals with families
2) Foreigners on business

The plane was rather cramped as I was sitted in the middle. It was a long 5hs flight to New Delhi. On board entertainment was good, managed to catch 2 movies , Kung Fu Panada and Hot Fuzz. Also listened to Eason's Chan album.

Flight Dinner
Drink :Singapore Sling Tasted like Fruit Punch with alcohol
Appetiser: Some nuts with raisins and sour bread (don't taste sour to me)
Main Meal: Vegetarian rice consisting of potatoes
Dessert : Cornetto Blackforest ice-cream

Reached Delhi 2135, SG 0230++
Throughout the journey was pretty rough as there was turbulences, however take-offs and landings were smooth. The airport runway was huge but the terminal was small (smaller than shopping malls). The terminal is still under renovations.

We had 2 contacts who were waiting for us and drove us to the hotel. India's traffic is an eye-opener. Like my colleague Gopi mentioned, if you can drive in India, you can drive anywhere.
I would post the videos of their traffic conditions

The sights of the city was apaling and pitiful. All those spoilt brats in SG better stop complaining.

Along the way, we stopped at a petrol station and bought mineral water and necessities. Soon we reached our humble hotel. We had issues checking-in but soon we were shown our rooms. A pretty small room with 2 beds and bathroom attached. Luckily got network point. No internet is death to the new generation. Their cable tv had more than 200 channels including MTV< Discovery, BBC ... soon washed up and head for bed.

Funny Pepsi commercial

Funny commercial

The new campaign by Renault-Nissan caused an uproar in the Gulf when it showed a group of Saudi oil barons screaming and attacking the Renault-Nissan vehicle.

The Saudis are shown leaving a hotel and encountering the new, fuel-efficient vehicle. One man pounds his fists on the car and is then held back by his companions as he shouts at it, “Hawks should peck at you day and night.”

At the end of the commercial, the voice-over says, “It’s clear the oil companies won’t like you.”

C2C NDP EVE Half-island Ride

THE QUEST FOR THE FURTHEREST AND STEEPEST

NDP eve had to work full day and Kai also had deployment. We had agreed to join C2C for the half-island ride. Kai had rode to work the day before. Wherelse I had to rush back home and ride to meet him at his office. Left from home 0830, 10km to ride.

Home -> Nicol Highway ->Suntec->Tanjong Pagar MRT -> Oppo SGH -> Bukit Merah HDB office.

Waiting for Kai at his office, 2110hs.

Just as we were about to carry on the journey, started to rain. We carried on despite the rain as the rain was not very heavy.

BM HDB-> Red Hill MRT, Queensway MRT, Commonwealth MRT, Bunoa Vista MRT, SP, Dover MRT, Clementi MRT, Jurong East MRT, Chinese Garden MRT, Lakeside MRT (2200), Boon Lay MRT(Jurong Point) -> Jurong Shell station.
GPGT Jalan Boon Lay !!! Amazing feat for me to ride from the East to extreme West .

There we waited for the C2C group. Around 30mins later we saw a convoy of dazzling lights. They had arrived !!!

Most number of bikes I ever seen !!

FROM BOON LAY WE CYCLED TO TOP OF MOUNT FABER!!!

Resting @ top of Mount Faber.

I nearly had a crash while doing a turn at high speed(40km/h). I had already slammed my rear brakes but it was still heading towards the kerb. My screeching tyres frightened many. Luckily I was unhurt.

On our way to supper at Lau Pat Sat.

I bet nobody are to steal our bikes. The value of the bikes there more than $20,000. Some mid-range road-bikes costs $5000 onwards.
Beef, Mutoon and chicken satay. We ordred in total 160 sticks.

Some riders chartered a lorry to pick them and their bikes home.

After supper we and another rider on a gray 07 Ava 2.0 named Danny, rode home past Nicol Highway.

Reached home 0230. It was really an unforgettable experince for us, especially conquering the steep slopes of Mount Faber, had to drop till 1-1 gear ratio.

FYI: 1-1 gear ratio means the bike at lowest gear for climbing steep slopes. At this speed walking is faster than cycling!
